For the WOMAN made to feel she’s
TOO MUCH & NOT ENOUGH
I’m Charlotte Bailey — trauma-informed BABCP accredited psychotherapist, speaker and spoken word poet. I draw on over 15 years experience in mental health with training in CBT, EMDR, Schema Therapy, parts work and more
Based near Manchester, I offer online therapy alongside talks, workshops & spoken word performances across the UK.
Through therapy, speaking, workshops and spoken word, I explore the experiences that shape how we see ourselves, relate to others and move through the world.
My work particularly resonates with women who’ve spent years people-pleasing, doubting themselves, feeling they’re “too sensitive”, overthinking or adapting and masking parts of themselves to fit in, keep the peace or feel accepted.

Maybe you already “get it” - but that doesn’t mean it feels any easier.
You know it’s okay to say no - but still struggle to say it or feel guilty and anxious if you do.
You replay conversations, worrying you came across as “too much.”
You find yourself questioning whether you’re being “too sensitive”.
You tell yourself you’ll do that ‘thing’ when things calm down, but things never seem to calm down.
You often feel like an imposter, apologising too much, or feeling responsibie for everyone else.
Feeling lost, unsure or conflicted about who you really are or what you want from life.
Maybe you’ve read the books, listened to the podcasts or even had therapy before, and still find yourself wondering:
“If I ‘get it’, why am I still doing it?”
Understanding your patterns can be an important part of change. But knowing where something comes from doesn’t always mean you feel able to respond differently. .
“What’s wrong with me!?”
You weren't born with established patterns like people-pleasing, self-doubt or feeling responsible for everyone else.
We're shaped by what we learn about ourselves, other people and what feels acceptable, expected or risky — through family, relationships, school, work, culture and the environments we move through.
And those patterns aren't always only about the past.
Sometimes an old belief or response is still being activated. Sometimes a relationship, workplace or environment is genuinely making it difficult to speak up, trust yourself, set boundaries or do something differently.
Often, it's both.
That's why my work considers two important questions:
“What taught me this?”
and
“What makes this make sense now?”
When you're struggling, it's easy to turn the frustration inwards and wonder what's wrong with you.
But understanding what's shaped a pattern, and what might still be reinforcing it, can help you recognise where change is possible — whether that's something within yourself, your relationships or the circumstances around you.
THERAPY • SPEAKING • PODCAST • POETRY
I explore these themes in different ways — through individual therapy, talks and workshops, my podcast, and poetry and spoken word.

Maybe somewhere along the way, being easy to be around
became easier than finding out
what happened when you weren’t.
